That is a typical religious statement. It is not possible to verify or falsify it, it starts from unproven prerequisites, it intends to explain everything and then some, it tries to define any objection away, and it is utterly irrelevant.

Big Pharma is running conventional medicine. Of course there's a conflict of interest. It's been deliberately set up that way. There have been enough articles written by MD's who've played "whistle blower" on the tactics of the drug companies without any words necessary from the natural medicine field.

If we just use 308 Winchester as the datum, you can load from 110 grain bullets to 200 grain bullets. The lighter bullets are normally considered "Varmint loads" they have a fairly low Sectional Density (ratio of length to diameter) and lower Ballistic Coefficients, so they don't slice through the air as well. The bullets themselves are normally a very thin jacketed or hollow point design which is meant to expand rapidly and/or fragment. These type bullets work well for coyotes, chucks, similar animals;and most smaller calibers like 223,22-250 use these to a good advantage. As you move up in bullet weight towards 150-180 grain you are dealing with hunting bullets that have specific terminal performance (I use Bonded Core and Controlled expansion types in my game hunting rifles),or bullet designed for match shooting and accuracy, and most of these are designed along the same lines as "varmint" bullets because terminal performance isn't required. the heavier bullets,180 + grains, are either very specific Very Low Drag (VLD) for shooting or high density hunting rounds for things like bear and moose. The 308 case has a short neck,so 200 grains is pretty much max for weight/length before you really start squeezing powder space within the case.
So,different bullets at different weights perform specific functions within that caliber.
Now, each cartridge provides a level of energy towards the bullet. A 30-06 can send the same type/weight bullet on average 150-200 feet per second faster than a 308,so it has more down range energy. A 300 Magnum has even more velocity. If you use a 223 with a 55-65 grain varmint bullet on a 40 pound coyote, you are putting less than 900 foot/pounds of force on target past 100 yards-more than enough for a 40 pound coyote-but not enough mass/force nor correct bullet type for deer (I don't advocate 223 at all for deer anyway-but for sake of example here). A 243 with a 100 grain bullet is getting almost 1500 foot/pounds of energy at 200 yards. That makes the 243 the minimum caliber in many states for deer hunting.
So, if you combine bullet types and weights with foot/pounds of energy you get a chart like Chuck Hawks put together for HITS and game-cartridge usage guides.
So, I use my 30-06 and 300 WSM with 165 grain Accu-Bond and Barnes Triple Shock Bullets to get good velocities/energies and have positive terminal performance. You hit a 40 pound coyote with a 165 grain bullet at 2500 FPS and you get pink mist, you hit it with a 65 grain bullet at same velocities and you get a clean kill and depending on bullet choice, a pelt you can make use of. The 165 grain bullet in a 30 caliber rifle gives a good mix of velocity, sectional density and retained energy, which is why I use it for deer and elk.
Hope that helps a little. Check out the Barnes Bullet videos on what terminal performs can look like.

Gaza only has a strip a few miles wide…Palestinians shouldn't accept ANY offer in which Israel doesn't concede enough land for defenceable borders.

Thats pretty much the same argument given in this video…

Did you serve MeKen? and better yet can you prove it by providing some facts about your time in the military?
Somehow I doubt it. Thats because you leftists hate the military and never serve in it.

Y'know, U of M offers about 100 CME courses per year….there is a lot to chose from, and no ones arm is twisted to take a specific course.

Considering that doctors can write off the expense on their taxes (and most of them are around $100) you think increasing the fee is that detrimental? I mean, that is how they maintain their livelihood.

Say, they will be doing a symposium on ethical issues and the Muslim population, one of the National Muslim groups will be participating, I'm sure you can spin a good conspiracy out of that one.

    Edit: Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Firstly a couple of points about the question.

"Is it true that the "Big Pharma" fund doctors education? Isn't this a conflict of interest?"

This is not about funding education it's about funding continuous eduction. This is not the same thing, and I wonder why you would twist it so. Secondly it's "doctors' education" not "doctors education".

Continuing Medical Education is no different to any other professional where continuous professional development is required to remain a member of your professional institution. It doesn't matter who is funding it or anything. I've been to events run by Siemens and Intel – does that mean it doesn't count? Of course it still counts.

All qualified doctors need to do the same thing, it's no different. Why shouldn't drugs companies fund conferences?

The real question is who is funding the CPD for crystal healers, homeopaths, chiropractors, applied kinesologists – or are these not regulated professionals so they don't need to bother with CPD
